Neighbourhood campaigns to sterilise and vaccinate stray cats.
Systematic sterilisation is the only sustainable way to achieve real control of the stray-cat population and prevent more kittens from being born on the street.

The target represents 5,000 individual cats that will no longer contribute to new generations being born on the street.
We work one neighbourhood at a time: identifying cat groups, coordinating humane trapping and veterinary care, and returning cats to familiar territory where they can continue to be monitored.
Every completed case becomes part of the public record—and moves the number forward by one.
How it works

Each cat follows the same core process, with veterinary care adapted to its condition.

Find and observe
We first identify and observe the cat group.
Before trapping starts, we observe the cats, estimate the size and composition of the group, identify regular feeding patterns and determine whether individual animals may require particular attention.

Trap safely
Trapping is planned, never improvised.
Humane live traps are set for a planned period and monitored continuously. Once a cat is caught, the trap is covered to reduce stress and taken to the veterinary clinic as soon as possible.

Veterinary assessment
Every cat is examined before treatment.
The veterinarian assesses the cat's general condition and determines whether sterilisation and vaccination can proceed safely or whether another medical need should be addressed first.

Treatment
Care is based on the veterinary examination.
When medically appropriate, the cat is sterilised and vaccinated. Injuries, illness or other veterinary needs discovered during examination are assessed and treated according to the veterinarian's recommendation.

Recovery
No cat is returned before it is ready.
After treatment, the cat remains under observation at the clinic or in an appropriate temporary recovery space for the period recommended by the veterinarian.

Return and monitoring
After recovery, the cat is returned to its familiar territory.
If return is not possible, another suitable solution is considered based on the cat's condition and the circumstances. Our aim is to monitor the group periodically to check whether its size remains stable and whether new cats have joined.

Veterinary examination and treatment.
Every cat is examined before sterilisation. Injuries and health problems identified during the examination are treated according to veterinary advice. We are currently speaking with several clinics about accepting future cases and participating in the programme.
Volunteer
You do not have to do everything to make a useful contribution.
A successful TNVR campaign depends on different people completing small, practical tasks. You can monitor a cat group, assist with trapping, transport a cat to a clinic or provide a quiet recovery space.
Tell us what you can realistically do and when. We will contact you when a specific need matches your availability.
Start with what you can doNot every volunteer task requires previous experience. New volunteers can begin with suitable activities and build practical experience with the programme.
Preparation for fieldworkBefore helping with trapping or using equipment, you will receive the necessary guidance and practical preparation.
Help according to your availabilityEach campaign has different needs. You can help with transport, monitoring, preparation, recovery or other specific tasks according to your time and availability.

Monetary donations are used primarily for sterilisation and the veterinary care connected with each cat's case. Equipment and supplies are listed separately under Current Needs.
October pilot · 1–31 October 2026. During the pilot month, support through Revolut is received by the founder while Catstrate Me's organisational banking and accounting arrangements are being established. This is the temporary way to support the mission during the pilot.
